Alexandra Notay is Placemaking and Investment Director at PfP Capital, the fund and asset management arm of Places for People Group, overseeing a UK-wide residential strategy. She is an internationally recognised expert on build to rent, placemaking and sustainable urban development, with 16 years’ strategic advisory and investment experience to private sector, government and third sector organisations across four continents. In January 2019 Alex was selected as one of the 48 women shaping the future of UK real estate at the prestigious BISNOW Women Leaders event.

Alex is a published author and editor of over 30 books and reports on real estate including the renowned ULI UK Best Practice Guide on Build to Rent (2014, 2016). Prior to that Arianna worked as a development lead on landmark super prime residential scheme Clarges Mayfair and she was involved in the completion and launch of another British Land prime residential scheme, Hempel Gardens. Before joining British Land in 2014, Arianna got an MBA degree at London Business School in London after working for 4 years as an architect for award winning practice Allies and Morrison Architects.

As head of Shoosmiths’ Living Sector, Catherine advises on a broad range of real estate transactions for privately-owned development companies, entrepreneurs, PLCs and household names, and has significant experience of acting on residential development schemes. Catherine has a particular focus on the later living market, advising developers on acquisitions and disposals of care homes and senior living sites, as well as issues around pre-lets, forward funding and development financing. Shoosmiths won Legal Team of the Year at Property Week’s RESI Awards 2020 and 2021.

Choisanne is a real estate partner in Shoosmiths’ Living sector team and has a broad practice focusing on investment acquisitions and disposals and the development of residential-led commercial and mixed use schemes. She has particular experience in the acquisition and forward funding of BTR schemes and acts for a wide spectrum of clients, ranging from private and publicly listed property companies to investments funds, asset managers and high net worth individuals. Shoosmiths was named law firm of the year at the RESI Awards in 2020 and 2021 and was shortlisted in 2022.

Chris spent over 33 years with CBRE as Executive Director, Board Member and focussed on Capital Markets & Property Development. Chris has been a long-standing innovator and leader within the UK property market. He strategically advised the first major new entrant to the UK Residential Investment market post the Banking Crisis – Akelius from Sweden.

Craig joined Fresh as a member of the Executive Team in May 2021 to take up the newly created role of Strategy and Business Development Director. He is responsible for driving Fresh’s ambitious growth aspirations across the entire residential-for-rent market.

He was previously with University Partnerships Programme (UPP), holding a number of positions over nearly 8 years, most recently sitting on the Executive Leadership Team as Group Legal Director - heading up the Legal, Company Secretarial and Compliance functions, as well as serving as Head of Internal Audit. Craig’s vast experience over 20 years covers the real-estate and broader infrastructure sectors, both within the UK and globally. A qualified solicitor, he has performed a variety of roles in business development, legal, commercial, and compliance at Fresh, UPP, John Laing, Bouygues and magic-circle law firm Linklaters.

Dan Batterton is head of residential at LGIM Real Assets. Launching the Build to Rent strategy in 2016 the portfolio has grown to over £2.5 billion and over 7,000 apartments in development or in operation spread across the UK.

Dan has over 20 years’ experience in the property sector and his exceptional understanding of portfolio strategy have been utilised to design L&G’s long-term acquisition, development, sustainability and operational strategy for the BTR sector. He leads the specialist BTR team at L&G that is delivering 1,500 new BTR homes per year.

Dan’s team has made some significant announcements recently including a commitment to invest another £2.5 billion over the next five years, and importantly for all their BTR homes to be Net Zero Carbon enabled by 2030.

Debra is the co-founder of SAY Property, an award-winning consultancy business working with investors and developers to provide strategic operational advice for mixed-use and living assets. Debra has over 25 years’ experience in residential property and is recognised as one of the major contributors to the industry. Before starting SAY with Charles Seifert, Debra was Director of Asset and Property Management at Grainger plc.

Debra is an expert in residential property and asset management with a particular focus on Build to Rent, Place Making, Regeneration and industry innovation. Debra has a keen interest in the positive social impact that can be delivered through new development. Debra has been a long-standing advocate for encouraging diversity within the real estate sector.

Freddie is the Deputy Fund Manager for the M&G UK Residential Property Fund. In conjunction with the Fund Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Fund’s objectives, performance and strategic direction. Freddie is also responsible for investment in the living sector in the UK for M&G Real Estate including the sub-sectors of student accommodation (PBSA), built to rent (BTR), senior living and shared ownership, with a particular focus on BTR and PBSA. Freddie holds a BSc (Hons) in Investment and Finance in Property from the University of Reading, is a member of the Investment Property Forum and is a qualified Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).

Graeme heads up TTLP, the new commercial property company responsible for the management and development of TfL’s 2,500 property assets across the capital.

TTLP will be building 20,000 homes on TfL land over the next 10 years and developing a portfolio of new commercial offices.

All profit from TTLP is returned to TfL to reinvest in London’s transport network.

Guy has over 24 years’ experience in the residential development, new homes and asset management industry. He joined Urban Splash in September 2015 and is responsible for the development, sales, customer care and asset management areas of the business.

Prior to joining Urban Splash, Guy was a Director at King Sturge/ JLL for over 10 years where he established the residential agency business in Leeds in 2004 specialising in land, investment, valuation, development sales, lettings and residential property management.

Henry has more than 15 years’ experience in strategic communications within the property sector. He works with developers, investment firms and consultants, using his expertise in messaging, media relations, social media and content creation to help them achieve their commercial objectives, whether that means securing new tenants for an office building, attracting investors, increasing deal flow or winning new customers.

James joined Mount Anvil in 2007. In recent years he’s been pivotal in negotiating some of our most complex deals, including Keybridge with A2Dominion, The Silk District with L&Q, and Friary Park with Catalyst (our first estate regeneration project).

As Land Director, James sources off-market development opportunities, building and enhancing long-term relationships with our partners.

James’s first taste of life at Mount Anvil was as a summer intern (he made a great cup of tea, apparently). Although these days he holds a Business Management & Urban Development Degree and a Masters in Quantity Surveying, some things haven’t changed – he’s still happiest exploring historic London, or in a proper pub with his family.

Jane joined Fresh in 2010, setting up the operational platform and has played an intrinsic part in the success and growth of Fresh. Jane oversees the customer experience and day to day operations of the business, ensuring that our customer insights shape our service and product. Jane has over 30 years’ experience in Residential for Rent.

Jason runs the development team currently responsible for the continued transformation of the 85 acre Wembley Park site. In his role he leads on place making; design; planning; development; commercial leasing and BTR product. He is also the director responsible for new business origination and acquisition.

Jason has over 25 years development experience and prior to Quintain he worked at Stanhope plc as Development Director for 11 years actively involved in pre-development, development and new business. At Stanhope, Jason’s focus was on large scale mixed-use regeneration. Prime schemes included the 2 million sq ft Ruskin Square scheme in Croydon in partnership with Schroders and the 1.5 million sq ft Station Hill scheme in Reading with Benson Elliot. Prior to Stanhope he was Development Director at Chelsfield plc, responsible for the regeneration of the 40 acre White City site, now Westfield London, which at the time was the largest new build urban shopping centre in the UK and the largest single institutional forward funded deal in Europe at £1.35Bn.

Jason is a chartered engineer and an active committee member of both the British Council of Offices and the British Property Federation.

Jerome Geoghegan joined Telford Homes in January 2018. Jerome has been working in residential development for over 30 years and for 20 years was at L&Q group, most recently as the Executive Director of Development and Sales. Prior to that he was at East Thames Housing Group. Jerome led the significant and successful growth of L&Q, delivering substantial volumes of new homes through regeneration and placemaking. He also led on creating their own construction arm and acquiring and overseeing a strategic land business. He is responsible for the Groups land buying and planning strategy, land acquisition, major planning applications, development management service and maintain key partnerships.

John is commercial director for the commercial real estate team at Aldermore. He is responsible for developing new propositions and enhancing the customer journey to meet growing demand. John has 30 years’ experience in the industry having previously worked in a number of national roles at Bank of Scotland, CYBG and NAB.

John German is a Managing Director of Residential Investments at Invesco Real Estate (IRE). John is responsible for spearheading the firm’s European residential expertise and investments in Europe for global institutional investors.

Since his arrival at Invesco Real Estate, the firm has concluded several European residential investments in the UK, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, Ireland, Denmark and the Czech Republic. This is building on IRE’s existing expertise in the multi-family sector in the US and Asia where IRE has over 30 years’ experience. It is one of few real estate managers able to offer global residential expertise.

John began his investment career in 1987 and joined Invesco Real Estate in 2013. Prior to joining Invesco, he spent 12 years at Grosvenor, where he was the head of residential strategy and was previously at Aberdeen Property Investors as director of residential fund management. In these roles, John raised, invested and managed c.€200m in two residential funds on behalf of UK and European institutional investors. John has over 34 years’ residential industry experience covering transactions, developments, valuations as well as asset and property management on behalf of institutional investors. He is also skilled in investment in the wider universe of the student and serviced apartment sectors.

John earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Rural Land Management and is a member of the British Property Federation (BPF) Residential Committee. At Invesco Real Estate, John is a member of the Investment Strategy Group. He is based in London.

Mount Anvil co-founder Killian Hurley has worked in the London property market since 1988. Passion, hard work and a demanding people-focused approach are keys to Killian’s business style. Kimberley has worked in built environment communications for 15 years, spanning both in-house and agency roles. As Director at leading communications consultancy, ING Media, Kimberley’s work focusses on reputational and strategic advisory for clients in a cross-section of the property sector A fluent German speaker, Kimberley began her career in financial PR and has held in house roles at Arcadis and LLDC. Kimberley is also a non-executive director at Drum London, a real estate development platform which aims to empower homeless Londoners through the provision of high-quality homes.

Lucy is COO of Lomond Group and has over 20 years’ experience in the property sector most recently as MD of online agency, Rentify. Prior to this Lucy was an Equity Partner at Knight Frank where she set up the Investment Lettings department before being appointed as Head of Lettings. Previous to this, Lucy held various roles with LSL Property Services, most latterly as Operations Director.

Mark is a highly experienced financier having started his career at Barclays in the mid-eighties and is now MD at Beaufort Capital. He has written over £2bn of property transactions. Mark has an MBA from Sheffield Business School and is a member of the APL and the BPF Finance Committee.

Mark is CEO and a Founding Director of Cast. He has over 30 years’ experience in construction and real estate and is a recognised international commentator. Mark authored the Farmer Review, an influential 2016 independent government review of the UK’s construction labour model entitled ‘Modernise or Die’. In 2019 he was appointed as The UK Government’s Champion for Modern Methods of Construction in Housebuilding.

Mark Quinn has redefined what it is to be a developer. He has pioneered the delivery of major community gains, making development a force for good. Active across all sectors, his housebuilding arm, Quinn Homes, is now a major player, delivering houses, apartments, self-build plots and affordable homes.

Mark is an Executive Director – Chairman of UK Residential for CBRE. Now celebrating 40 years in the property industry, Mark is regarded as a leading figure in London residential, with a wealth of experience and contacts.

In June 2013, Mark became a Fellow of the RICS. He is the immediate past Chairman of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Property and Construction Committee.

Mark was a Director of Fulham Football Club and was an elected member of the Premier League, as a Football Association Council Member. Mark also sits on the London Mayor’s, Homes for Londoners Board alongside the Mayor himself and in September 2021 was extended for a further 3-year term.

He sits on the U.K. ULI Executive Committee and the ULI European Residential Product Council. Mark is a member of the Reading Real Estate Foundation Fundraising Committee and is very focused around promoting diversity and inclusion in the property industry. He supports Kings College NHS Hospital Charity.

Michelle joined CWG at the start of February and responsible for launching Canary Wharf Group’s first estate wide App. Michelle is a highly regarded customer experience leader with over twenty years’ experience across real estate, financial services and retail. Michelle joins CWG from the Crown Estate where she was the Head of Customer since 2015. At the Crown Estate, Michelle was accountable for the development and delivery of the customer strategy and roadmap across the £14bn UK real estate business. Previously, Michelle was the Head of Customer Experience at Santander for over four years.

Michelle’s appointment to this new role reinforces Canary Wharf’s transformation to be an increasingly customer centric business. CWG’s priority is to create a sustainable place that enhances the wellbeing of those who live, work and thrive at Canary Wharf.

Michelle has a pivotal role in continuing to develop the strategy for CWG’s customers and to support its ambition to better understand diverse customer profile using data and insights.

Neil Young is Investment Chair at his investment firm Young. He was previously Chief Executive at Get Living, a pioneer in build to rent, and started his career working in the hospitality industry with Tui and British Airways.

He now invests in and helps grow businesses in the living sector. He is an investor in, and Chairman of, We Are Kin and QIQO Living. The former focuses on co-living homes in the student accommodation sector. The latter focuses exclusively on key worker accommodation. Both offer refurbished homes with strong environmental credentials and excellent service levels to their residents.

Neil is also a Senior Advisor at Fable Homes, a business that aims to help first-time buyers acquire a home.

Nick is an Architect and Board Director at Whittam Cox Architects. He has enjoyed twenty-five years to date working on urban living projects in all forms. Nick is a strong advocate of sustainability and MMC. His current projects include Brent Cross Town and a new Student Village at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Paul is the Chief Executive Officer of PSP who are a specialist property services partner and consultant to the UK public sector. PSP create long term property partnerships and provide asset and development consultancy services to Councils and registered providers to accelerate the delivery of projects spanning the real estate spectrum. Paul has over 30 years local government experience, delivering development, regeneration, construction and asset management projects of differing scale and complexity, working in partnership with agencies and organisations across all sectors.

Rebecca has 17 years of diverse experience across all real estate sectors. The last 6 years she has had a particular focus on operational residential markets. At BNP Paribas Real Estate she works closely with the Alternative market teams supporting them with research and data analytics. Prior to this role Rebecca worked at a Development Finance company supporting the loan originators on residential and student housing loan deals. She regularly writes articles and reports covering Build to Rent, Student Housing, Senior Living, Healthcare and Hotels. Rebecca is a member of the Society of Property Researchers.

Leading industry figure with over 25 years’ experience across the real estate and technology sectors, specialising in the delivery of data-driven, commercially focused, thought leadership and strategic advisory. Broad experience advising senior stakeholders and steering decision-making to clear outcomes for business strategy across development, investment and mortgage markets. Executive Director at a leading, private equity owned UK technology business in property.

Prior to co-founding HomeViews, Rory spent 15 years in the residential development sector, having been a Senior Director at CBRE and Head of New Homes at Marsh & Parsons. As an early investor, co-founder and now CEO, Rory is an advocate for the benefits HomeViews brings and its increasing significance within the property industry. He is passionate about using the HomeViews platform to help raise standards across the built environment – for the benefit of the industry and residents alike.

Simon has a career spanning over 30 years during which he has focussed on residential land and development, transacting on some of the UK’s best known assets such as New Scotland Yard, Battersea Power Station, Nine Elms and Canada Water. In his new role at JLL, Simon is leading the businesses focus on the rapidly changing demographic in the UK. Simon holds an MSc in Cites from London School of Economics.

Steve heads up Cluttons’ Transactional & Advisory division which provides development, planning, affordable housing, commercial agency and investment services. Steve has a focus in development and planning and has over 20 years’ experience in UK real estate having advised a number of clients, including pension funds, institutions, charities, public sector bodies and individual land owners, on how to maximise the value of their assets.

Susan is a Partner in the Real Estate department at law firm Mishcon de Reya. An experienced real estate lawyer, her in-depth understanding of the property market, the emerging world of tech and her business training as a Sloan Masters MSc (London Business School) graduate, combined with a wide circle of contacts, is an effective combination.

In 2021, Susan received an honorary doctorate from the University College of Estate Management (UCEM), in recognition of contribution to the built environment. She is ranked in Bisnow's 51 Most influential Women in UK real estate list 2018 as "the woman who knows everyone".

She is also listed in Property Week's Women's Power List, which describes her as "a world-class networker" with "a contact book full of CEOs." Susan is on the board of Central District Alliance, the Holborn and surrounding area's Business Improvement District and chairs its Property Group.

In the tech sector, Susan is ranked 40 in the Tyto Tech Top 500 List 2018 and also one of the Top 10 Most Influential Online Commercial Real Estate People in 2018 by Duke Long, the "most quoted man in commercial real estate". Susan is a member of the Mishcon Technology Group, which has recently launched MDR LAB - an incubator programme for tech start-ups in the legal space. She has also mentored for Pi Labs accelerator programme for proptech start-ups since it launched and is a regular speaker on the #proptech circuit.

Susan is also on the Board of Advisors of real estate investment company Seaforth Land and of flexible working company Work.Life. She writes for Property Week on property industry issues and is active on twitter as @Propertyshe. She is ranked in 25th position in The #CREi List of Top Twitter Influencers for 2022.

Susan undertakes regular speaking and panel engagements and hosts a regular Propertyshe podcast interviewing key influencers who define and make a difference to the real estate industry and built environment. With a focus on the UK’s Land and Development Living sector Thomas has 20 years of experience in the industry having gained a significant element of this as a subsidiary Board Director of an award winning developer prior to undertaking a number of strategic and Capital Markets roles at JLL. Most recently roles at JLL have covered Head of Partnerships, a Senior Director of the London Living Land business providing advisory and brokerage services in the EMEA UK Capital Markets business. The positions held at JLL have enabled transaction and advisory roles on significant London developments and the repurposing of multi sector uses to desirable, sustainable and award winning Living led developments

With Rightmove for over a decade, Tim runs the company’s data services, deploying analytics to generate insights that enable customers to make good decisions quickly. He has a background in investment banking and management consultancy, and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, USA.
